Your Questions Answered:
STUDENT ACCOUNT
How long does registration take?
Normally no more than seven days from receiving your deposit on tuition fees, registration fees, completed application form, photo and copies of your certificates and passport details. If however you visit us in person [or your representative] with all the above details we can enrol you on the same day. Enrolment is continuous throughout the year but course start dates are in January, March and September of every year. You are advised to make your application at least two months prior to start of course. Requests for change of course will not be entertained once you have accepted an offer. The only factors affecting your application are the date of application and the number of places available.
When and how can I pay the tuition fees?
Tuition fees vary considerably from course to course depending on the level and institute [see fee list in this prospectus]. Whichever course you choose, your commitment to pay begins only when you register and you can also pay your fees in instalments. Tuition fees become payable as soon as you have been enrolled on a running course. Failure to comply with this regulation will result in suspension without notice. You can pay by bank transfer, cash and cheque or by money order into our college bank account [call and notify the college of the mode of payment]. Full fees are refundable only if the college cannot run an advertised the course.
Do you provide accommodation?
The college works in conjunction with the Leicester Newark Housing, which offer a wide variety of accommodation to suit student needs and preferences. They however require a deposit of about £100.00 and a lead-time of about two to three weeks to arrange accommodation.
Exams?
Most of our exams are externally controlled by the relevant bodies/Institutes. Exams are mainly held in June and December of every year. The college will prepare students for the next exam month if this is practical to do so, but it is also up to the student with the tutor’s assistance to decide if they feel confident to sit for that next exam. It is recommended that you enter for no more than five subjects at any one exam session. Some students may be eligible for exemptions but generally these are not available for subjects previously failed.
Do I have to pass an entry test?
No. However entry requirements apply to every course we offer and we require students to have proof of competences in English and Maths.
Do I have to complete my course within set time limits?
There is no set time limit for completing your course. However, foreign students may be bound by their sponsorship contracts and may have to abide by these. Further the UK Immigration department would like to see some progress every year. Certain institutes also require students to keep their membership up-to-date to be able to write exams.
